Natural and complementary therapies
ATURAL AND COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
Fertility is a whole-body event and there are several factors that play a crucial role in getting pregnant. Many couples we see have lost their sense of direction and don’t feel that they have control over what is happening. Dealing with uncertainty is often the hardest factor when it comes to trying for baby naturally or going through IVF. We at Little Angel IVF are unique in the sense that we assess all
the factors that can impact the success of IVF and believe that every couple is different – you cannot have a one-size fits all approach with fertility.
Keeping the above in mind, we have developed a highly individualised programme.
- Individualized care and tailor-made plan of action because everyone is different.
- Patient hearing and all Questions answered
- Relaxed and unhurried setting, not rushed
- Friendly team
- Transparency and ethics
- Preparation at every level – medical, emotional, nutritional and lifestyle to assess all aspects of your life that can influence outcome.
- Kindness, support and advise.
- Complementary therapies to help support treatment.
- Cutting edge medical science combined with nutrition, lifestyle and stress management
We are proud of our excellent results and we put these down to our unique approach to IVF which we believe is quite different from that of other, more traditional IVF centres.
We start with getting to know you, your lifestyle, your nutrition and even your mindset so we can develop the right plan of action for you. A personalised and detailed consultation gives a good framework for you and us to assess the next steps. This is different from any medical consultation you may have had, as we will help you address many issues around lifestyle, diet, relationship, work-life balance, and even the emotions that may be affecting you. You might be surprised at how significant a difference the right physical and emotional preparation, combined with the right medical tests and investigations can make.
1.Nutrition and Life Style Assessment:
Nutrition is an important factor that affects the success of IVF besides several other parameters like age, weight, exercise, psychological stress and environmental and occupational exposure. “Food for Fertility” program aims at a detailed nutrition and lifestyle assessment by our experts followed by formulation of a personalised diet plan, vitamin supplementation for natural fertility and suggestions on lifestyle modifications.
Subfertility is not just a biological dysfunction but it has emotional, psychological and social ramifications. In developing countries like India, it is associated with social stigma and causes stress and depression in the couples. This is one of the main reasons for inclusion of a Psychologist in the IVF Team according to the guidelines laid down by the Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR). The psychologists in our team interact in a highly personalised way, with each and every one of our patients, hold your hands, literally and metaphorically, answering your questions and keeping you as positive and motivated as possible, every step of the way.
Acupuncture, as the name suggests, is a system of complementary medicine in which fine needles are inserted in the skin at specific points along what are considered to be lines of energy (meridians), used in the treatment of various physical and mental conditions.
Acupuncture can increase fertility by decreasing stress, increasing blood flow to the reproductive organs and balancing the endocrine system, according to several studies.
Naturopathy is a system of alternative medicine based on the theory that diseases can be successfully treated or prevented without the use of drugs, by techniques such as control of diet, exercise, and massage. It treats not only the body but mind too, heals emotions and increases IVF success rates. A naturopath would aim to boost your general health and wellbeing to try to boost your fertility.
5.Herbal medicines and supplements:
Although some couples use Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to improve success rate but it is best not to take any herbal medicines because there is a potential for herb-drug interaction. Modern medicine for IVF does not encourage supplements and herbs to enhance the success rate.
Meditation helps to de-stress and prepare your body for pregnancy. It increases awareness of your mind-body connection and balances hormones. Latest research suggests that the success rate of IVF and ICSI may be improved by using relaxation and positive visualisation techniques.
7.Fertility lifestyle program:
It is a holistic program including the right diet, exercise and de-stressing techniques to make the mind and body ready for the process of IVF and enhance success rates.
